We are almost wrapping up the Proverbs 31 woman series. So far in this series, we have looked at the Proverbs 31 woman in terms of her character, her work ethic, and her spiritual life. This week, we will focus on her wisdom in decision-making.
This woman is often portrayed as being perfect and having it all together, but we know that decision-making is hard! On the podcast, Wendie and Debra discuss how the Proverbs 31 woman used wisdom in decision-making and how we can too.
Kindness and Wisdom in Decision-Making
The Proverbs 31 woman is known for being wise. In Proverbs 31:26, it says, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”
The Proverbs 31 woman is not only wise, but she is also kind. She uses her wisdom to make decisions that are not only in her own best interest but also in the best interest of others.
Consequences
When it comes to decision-making, we often think about what is best for us in the short term. We may make a decision that will save us money in the short term, but end up costing us more in the long term.
The Proverbs 31 woman is wise enough to think about the long-term implications of her decisions. She knows that making a decision based on what is best for her in the short term may not be best for her in the long term.
Acknowledge the Lord
” We can’t speak with wisdom and we cannot speak with kindness, the Lord’s kindness, the Lord’s love. If we are not, acknowledging Him and asking for His direction.”
The Proverbs 31 woman knows that she needs to acknowledge the Lord in all her ways in order for Him to direct her path. She trusts in the Lord’s wisdom and love and knows that He will always lead her on the right path.
And when it comes to decision-making, we need to do the same. We need to seek the Lord’s wisdom and love, and trust that He will always lead us on the right path – even if it’s not the path we originally planned on taking.
So, when you’re facing a decision, big or small, ask yourself: “Is this decision based on what is best for me, or is it based on what is best for the Lord?”
If it’s the latter, then you can be confident that you’re making the right decision, even if it’s not the easiest one. Because when we make decisions based on what is best for God, we know that He will always lead us on the right path. And that is a path worth taking.
