Re-Imagining Education in Kenya Roundtable Recap

The Coronavirus pandemic has brought sweeping changes in the way we live, work, and play. It has disrupted education for nearly 1.3 billion students worldwide with 17 Million in Kenya alone. In attempts to manage the spread of the virus, governments around the world are imposing strict guidance on how school should reopen. To help provide solutions for this, this past weekend we hosted an education business Forum in Kenya with leaders in Christian education called Re-imagining education in a time of crises. The Forum was a huge success with 140 online registration, and over 400 views on facebook.

A poll taken from the event attendees suggested the attendees were made up of 50% Christian school owners, 18% Christian school staff, and the rest were parents or other. 100% of the attendees were encouraged to continue as a result of the event. They stated that they received tools and solutions on how to successfully navigate the current crises; however, they needed further training, coaching and support.

Here are some of the comments from attendees:

“I was blessed by the education webinar.

I wish to thank you for introducing me to Nehemiah! Truly been a blessing”

“This program will revolutionize education in Kenya”

“The Most informative engagement I have attended virtually this season of covid 19”

Several opportunities were presented to event participants to provide them with ongoing support which included membership to the Nehemiah E-Community, training, Ccaching and the opportunity to participate in future forums. Special thanks to our panelist and speakers who helped make this event a success; Bill Gibbons from All His Kids Vancouver Washington, Sandra Yager from Cornerstone Christian Academy – Vancouver Washington, Betty Kimani from Marion School- Kenya, Dr Juluis Otundo, Riara University – Kenya, and Enock Mohol from School of Tomorrow – Kenya.
