A Time to Reflect, Strategize, and Realign
From July 14–16, the Nehemiah staff gathered online for our 3rd Quarter Staff Retreat—a three-day virtual experience focused on reflection, strategic planning, and realignment. While we may have been in different locations, the energy, collaboration, and shared purpose were stronger than ever. The retreat provided a valuable mid-year pause to celebrate progress, assess challenges, and refocus for the final stretch of 2025.

Day 1: Reflecting on the Heart of Kingdom Business
The first day of the retreat began with a time of worship. This set the tone for a spiritually grounded session. Patrice Tsague followed with a brief but powerful opening prayer and a devotion centered on Kingdom business and Mental Health, which is also the theme of our upcoming Nehemiah Business Summit 2025. From there, the staff engaged in a breakout session to reflect on the devotion—sharing personal takeaways and considering how the message could be applied in their own lives. A group debrief allowed for deeper reflection and connection.
The session continued with a meaningful assessment discussion on Kingdom business and Mental Health, where team members were placed in random breakout groups to explore their assessment results—discussing their highest and lowest scoring categories, what those scores meant, and steps they could take to improve. This assessment will be used for the upcoming Nehemiah Summit to help participants gauge where they are in the different areas in their lives.
After a short break, the team regrouped to evaluate what’s working and what needs improvement, reviewing overall performance for the quarter and the past six months. The day closed with key takeaways and a final prayer, leaving everyone with a renewed focus and spiritual alignment to begin the retreat journey.
DAY 2: PREPARING WITH PURPOSE AND STRATEGY
Day 2 of the retreat began with another uplifting time of worship. The atmosphere was one of deep reflection as Patrice Tsague led the morning prayer and devotional, continuing the second part of the theme of Kingdom Business and Mental Health. Participants then entered random breakout rooms to unpack the message—sharing personal insights and practical applications from the devotion.
After a group debrief, the focus shifted to preparation for this year’s Nehemiah Business Summit. Patrice walked the team through a detailed overview of the summit agenda and project plan, highlighting the keys to success. Teams then moved into breakout rooms to discuss these success factors before regrouping for a debrief session.
Following a short break, Patrice presented the Marketing and Sales Report, which led into a Marketing SWOT Analysis session. Team members collaborated to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats—then worked together to prioritize the top three critical areas for improvement. They concluded by brainstorming actionable solutions to address these priorities.
The day wrapped up with key takeaways and a closing prayer, leaving the team energized and aligned as they moved closer to executing the summit with excellence.
DAY 3: REALIGNING VISION THROUGH FAITH AND FUNDRAISING
The final day of the retreat opened with a deeply moving time of worship. With hearts centered and spirits lifted, Patrice Tsague offered a morning prayer and continued with Part 3 of the devotion series on Kingdom Business and Mental Health. In breakout discussions, team members shared key takeaways and practical ways they plan to apply the message in their daily walk.
The focus then shifted to one of the most critical areas of organizational growth—Fundraising. Patrice led a session on the keys to successful fundraising, including a review of the current plan and strategies to elevate donor engagement. After a brief break, the team reconvened for a Fundraising Report followed by a collaborative Fundraising SWOT Analysis. Participants worked together to identify urgent challenges and strengths, then prioritized the top three areas requiring attention. Through shared insight and strategic thinking, the team brainstormed actionable ways to improve fundraising efforts moving forward.
The day—and the retreat—concluded with powerful takeaways and a closing prayer, sealing three days of deep reflection, strategic focus, and spiritual alignment.
With renewed clarity and unity, the team is now poised to finish the year with excellence.
