Highlights and Recap of the Nehemiah Best Practice Business Tour & Conference 2024

highlights

From May 28 to June 1, 2024, a convergence of visionary leaders, thriving businesses, and innovative entrepreneurs illuminated the cities of Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, for the Nehemiah Best Practice Business Tour & Conference. Hosted by our Chief Servant Officer and his wife, Patrice and Gina Tsauge, and the entire Northwest Center team, with our distinguished delegates from the Kenya center, led by the Country Director, Frank Kitonga, this event was a masterclass in business excellence and Kingdom values.

The event was held entirely in-person and featured a Kingdom Business Tour which journeyed throughout the community followed by a Connect Meeting, Conference, and Impact Brunch hosted at the Royal Oaks Country Club.

The tour featured a meticulously curated selection of 10 Kingdom businesses, each exemplifying excellence in their respective fields. From fledgling startups to seasoned enterprises, the tour allowed us to discover the secrets behind their meteoric rise and explore the intricacies of marketing, administration, finance, and operations as they share their triumphs and tribulations.

Here’s a snapshot of the transformative journeys we embarked upon:

It was indeed inspiring to witness these trailblazers unveil the secrets to achieving not just a triple, but a quadruple bottom line!

KINGDOM BUSINESS TOUR 3 - Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community

Following the conclusion of the Nehemiah Best Practice Business Tour, we hosted a pivotal Connect Meeting. This gathering was specially designed to foster networking and provide deeper insights into the remarkable impact our initiatives are having internationally, particularly in Kenya.

At the Connect Meeting, we had the chance to hold a certificate ceremony to recognize and award some key staff members who have left a legacy and contributed to the Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community for many years and since have launched into other callings.

Receiving awards were Debra Schlaht, former Director of Training & Coaching, Wendie Klem, former Director of Operations (mentioned in name only, who was unable to attend in person), and Richard Zielke, former head of the Chaplaincy position. Lastly, we also gave awards to those in attendance from our E-community who have completed the necessary training and benchmarks to receive Business Life Cycle certificates including the business stages of Discovery, Start-up, Breakeven, Profitability, Scalability, Sustainability, and Succession & Exit. Kingdom businesses then can display these awards at their businesses to motivate their teams and know exactly how far they have come and where they are headed!

The meeting featured profound discussions led by Claudia Waithaka and Frank Kitonga, who have been instrumental in steering our Kenya center towards remarkable achievements. Their presentations highlighted the innovative strategies and transformative projects that are reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape in Kenya.

KINGDOM BUSINESS TOUR 4 - Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community

Post-tour, the Nehemiah Best Practice Business Conference offered a wealth of knowledge with guest speakers covering the entire Nehemiah Business Life Cycle —from discovery through to succession and exit. The insights shared were invaluable, providing attendees with frameworks and strategies applicable at every stage of their business journey.

The week concluded with an Impact Brunch which served up delicious brunch to the guests in attendance and also served to highlight the global impact of the Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community. Our keynote speaker was Jeff Grubb who serves on the Board of Murdock Trust and is a successful Consultant and Investment Banker. The event also served as a fundraising platform for our sustainability campaigns, showcasing the tangible changes driven by our community.
