More Than A Conqueror

[/fusion_tagline_box][fusion_text]If there is one thing entrepreneurs need to deal with in the daily pressures of business and the uncertainties of the marketplace, it is an internal sense of confidence in God. There are days that expense exceeds revenue and we do not know how to pay the rest of our bills. There are days we get disappointing news from a client, a vendor or an employee that causes us to wonder whether or not we will be able to remain in business. No matter what the challenge is, the good news is that we can always turn to the Word of God and find comfort and encouragement.

Romans 8:35 tells us that nothing shall separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus: not tribulation (a condition of affliction), distress (a state of adversity), persecution (persistent mistreatment), famine (severe lack of natural provision), nakedness (being without natural protection), peril (potential cause of loss) or sword (weapons used against us). Verse 37 further states, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us.” This means in tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or sword, we are victorious. Being more than a conqueror means to have overwhelming and exceeding victory over the enemy or a situation. Whatever situation or circumstances you are facing, remember you have overwhelming and exceeding victory.

I was the captain of my basketball team during my senior year of high school. I think I was pretty good, but let’s suppose I was to challenge Michael Jordan in a one-on-one contest. Would I have a chance to win the game? No, he would have an overwhelming and surpassing victory over me. Not only would I not win the game, but I would also have no chance of winning. Michael Jordan is a superior basketball player compared to me. That is the same way with you and whatever situation you are facing. You have superiority over your situation, not because of you, but because of Christ who loves you.

The question becomes, if we have this superiority over the enemy and our situation, why does the enemy overcome most believers? The answer is simple: we do not walk in the victory we have and we give place to the enemy. Being more than a conqueror is not situational–it is a state of being. You conquered before you even started; your victory is not based on what you do but on what Christ did on the cross of Calvary. All you have to do is walk in your victory and don’t give place to the enemy. Let me use another personal example: I struggle with timeliness, and the Lord has assured me that I’m more than a conqueror over timeliness. However, I have not been walking in that victory and I give place to the enemy by not giving myself enough time to get to where I need to go.

I often abuse the grace of God by giving myself just enough time without considering that things could go wrong. Walking in my victory means I must plan to be early so I will not be late. I must also give myself more than enough time so that no matter what the enemy attempts to do, it will not affect my timeliness because the advantage is on my side.

Regardless of the issues you may struggle with, may our Lord Jesus Christ give you overwhelming and exceeding victory in your business and over all the other areas in your life.

My prayer for you today is that God would give you heavenly confidence to know that you are already victorious when you are on God’s side.
