Embracing the New
WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL BY PATRICE TSAGUE
Are you ready for something new? Are you tired of the same old same old? Are you prepared to let go of the old to embrace the new?
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” – Isaiah 43:19 (NKJV) |
I know what you are thinking; please bring me the new and bring it fast! We are all tired of the pandemic, inflation, social-political divide, climate change, Putin’s war on Ukraine, and not to count the day-to-day personal and business challenges that we all face regularly. Let the new year bring something new!
When we typically think of something new, we imagine something that we’ve never seen before or that never existed, but there is another aspect of new that we often don’t think about; seeing something familiar through a different lens. Something new happens in us, and as a result, we now see everything through a new lens. We can therefore embrace our existing situation and circumstances through a new lens. This changes how we process what we go through and therefore changes the results.
At the time when God is speaking to the people of Israel in Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert”, Jerusalem has been destroyed, and the people of God are facing uncertainty towards their future and the promises God made to them.
In the midst of this chaos, God declares that He will do a new thing. It is hard to believe in the promises of God for a new thing when our current reality seems so permanent, and we can not see a way out. This is when we must remember that the just shall live by faith. We do not operate by what we see or experience but by what we believe. God’s ability to bring a new thing into your life and business is directly connected to your ability to accept the new that God has promised by faith. The new is a manifestation of your faith in God to bring it to pass no matter your circumstances!
Do you believe that God will do a new thing? Are you ready to embrace the new?
Here are seven guiding principles to embrace the new thing that God wants to manifest in your life and business:
- Accept that God is able to do it
- Declare with your mouth and believe in your heart that God will do a new thing in your life and business.
- Reject the old things
- Envision your new reality with as many specifics as you can
- Act and behave as though this new reality is here
- Believe in God’s ability to do the impossible
- Praise God for what He has done, is doing, and will do
New does not mean easy or without challenges, remember, Jesus said, “in this life you will face trouble but be of good cheer because I have overcome the world”. New means fresh, energetic and optimistic. It means renewed perspective despite familiar situations.
What do you have to lose? Let God do a new thing in your life and business this year.
My prayer for you is that God will give you the grace to embrace the new that He has before you so that He can realize His will for your life and business.
