Trust God For The Supernatural
WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL BY PATRICE TSAGUE
Do you believe in miracles? How do you tap into God’s supernatural power? What if you could walk on water?
Let’s explore this topic together in today’s devotional:
“‘And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.’” — 2 Kings 4:4 (NKJV) |
Many people believe that just because they are Christians and have a need, God will automatically intervene supernaturally. That is an incorrect assumption. There are many Christians who go without every day. Rather, it is only when you have obeyed God’s principles and maximized your abilities that God will supernaturally come in to assist in areas that are beyond your abilities, according to your faith. Of course there are times when even in our disobedience, God supernaturally comes in as an act of mercy; however, we should not plan around that because He said He would have mercy on whom He chooses. (Romans 9:15)
In the story of the widow with the jar of oil in 2 Kings 4:5-6, the widow was asked by the Prophet Elijah to borrow vessels to enable her to create something she can sell to help her get out of debt. Though she only had one jar of oil at the start, God multiplied the oil to fill every vessel that the widow borrowed.
The oil increased in proportion to her faith and this was demonstrated by the number of vessels she borrowed. Supernatural means above the natural or a force or phenomenon that is not subject to natural laws, and therefore beyond verifiable measures. In order for the supernatural to be realized, we need to first maximize the natural and have faith.
Unfortunately, many believers want a miracle for everything, even that which they can do themselves, so they never maximize the natural. Miracles are not essential to achieving natural success; it comes by way of applying natural laws in the way God intended them to be applied. Many unbelievers are successful in the natural without taking advantage of the supernatural. The supernatural is essential when you are limited in the natural. The woman with the jar of oil had a limited amount of oil and needed much more in order to achieve financial victory, and God multiplied the oil supernaturally, according to her faith.
Moses, while taking the children of Israel out of Egypt was being chased by Pharaoh and found himself in front of the Red Sea. With Pharaoh at his back, God supernaturally parted the Red Sea and enabled them to pass on dry land while Pharaoh and his army drowned. Jesus, desiring to feed five thousand people found himself with only five loaves and two fishes. God supernaturally multiplied the loaves and the fishes so that not only were everyone fed, but they had some leftovers.
What are you believing God for? Is there anything in your business where you have done the best you can but your best is not enough and you want God to step in and perform a miracle for you? It is a good time to trust Him for supernatural assistance. How do you tap into God’s supernatural assistance?
The keys to tapping into God’s supernatural assistance are as follows:
- Maximize the natural: Do all that you know to do. God does not like slothful people, so do the best you can and trust God for what you can not do.
- Live a holy life: You can not expect God to supernaturally assist you when your life does not glorify Him.
- Obey God’s instructions on giving: If you are not a generous giver and do not tithe, why would God show you mercy or extend His favor to you?
- Prayer and fasting: There are certain mountains that can not be moved without a commitment to prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting enable you to release everything to God and tap into His power.
- Act in faith: Ultimately, faith is the currency that is essential to activate miracles. No matter what you do, it ultimately boils down to what you believe to be possible with God.
Are you in need of a business miracle? Whatever your circumstances or situation, ensure that the five keys above are active in your life, do what you can, and trust God for the supernatural assistance that will aid you to realize the goals that you are believing God for.
My prayer for you is you will experience God’s supernatural power in your current limitations so that you can do more than you can hope and even imagine.
