That was Fun
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” – James 1:2 (NKJV)
What is your attitude when faced with trials? How do you walk out the scriptures which tell us to “call it all joy” when faced with trouble? Do you want to have fun while going through trouble?
“Going through this has actually been quite fun” was a statement made by a Biblical Entrepreneur as he shared about some of the challenges the company is persevering through. As he made the statement, I could imagine his staff saying “Fun? that is not how I would describe the pressure and uncertainties we faced.” How can it possibly be fun to face issues that could suck the life out of you? How can it be fun to be dragged through the mud unjustly? How can it be fun to face an uncertain future?
Ye, this is exactly how the Lord asks us to respond amid difficulties no matter how great or small. Laugh at it. Enjoy the ride. Embrace the challenge with unconditional optimism because God is about to show up. In the end, you would have had a front-row seat to the best Roller Coaster ride of your life. On top of that, you will be complete and lacking nothing. How do you turn your own troubles into fun?
7 keys to turning our troubles into fun
- Trust in the sovereignty of God by remembering who God is and how He has brought you through in the past
- Laugh at the problem, no matter how great it is, it is small compared to your God
- Embrace the trouble and don’t run from it
- Speak your victory and not defeat
- Seek peace by agreeing with God
- Be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove when you apply solutions
- Visualize how God will be glorified through the problem
Are you having fun yet? The bible teaches us that a joyful heart is like good medicine, there is nothing that you are going through that a little faith and a good laugh will not cure. Turn your troubles to the Lord today and start enjoying the journey with the knowledge that in the end, you will be lacking nothing.
My prayer for you today is that God will grant you the grace to transform your trouble into joy and the wisdom to pivot where necessary.
