Building Blocks to Execute Your Strategy of Excellence – provide clarity, direction, and alignment. They are a great foundation for success. However, for the strategy to be effective, it must be executed with excellence not just perfection.
It is not enough to have a business strategy. This strategy needs to be executed more consistently and reliably compared to your competition. This results in lower operational risk and lower operating costs translating into increased revenues.
In the current society, the term excellence is often used when comparing ourselves and our performance to those we consider as competition. This often makes us lose focus instead of doing our best to accomplish what we desire with excellence.
We should understand that excellence can only be achieved with love otherwise it will just be an “empty high-performance”. And high performance only creates a culture of competition, pride, self-centeredness, neglect, excuses, and low productivity.
To be able to achieve our goals as women, we need to work together in a way that we complete each other and not compete with each other. We need to work as a team instead of feeling threatened by someone else’s strength and confidence as this always brings conflict.
One of the best practices for the building blocks of excellence is consistency as this usually means quality. And in business, quality earns you a good reputation in the marketplace. A good reputation is an intangible asset because it plays a great role in reducing marketing costs. On the other hand, it also means that if you don’t deliver as per the client’s it could damage your reputation. And we all know how hard it can be to redeem your reputation. So in your operations, strive to provide consistent results.
Another aspect of excellence is improvement and wanting to be better in all operations. There is also creativity and action. Developing a work culture that honors innovative innovation invites your team to continually contribute to solving problems.
Excellence also means going the extra mile. What does that mean? It means that you are always pushing yourself to be better than you were yesterday, better than the last time you did something, better than what is expected of you. Achieving excellence requires an ongoing commitment to taking action.
Leaders should ensure that their actions lead towards excellence as people will always do what they do.
In everything, always remember that God above all else will set you apart for you to achieve excellence. Seek Him and His guidance and everything else will fall into place.
