BE Mission Trip and Site Visit to Ukraine

Last week, after my trip to Bulgaria, I traveled to Ukraine and had the privilege of spending four days in Ternopil with our Biblical Entrepreneurship partner Ivan Papish.   Ivan is the founder and executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship Development Success.  I taught a Biblical Entrepreneurship II class with 50 students, most of whom had gone through a Biblical Entrepreneurship I class that was taught by Ivan Papish and his team the week prior.  The unique thing about this BE II class was the age demographic.  The students ranged from high school and college students, to seasoned entrepreneurs.  Many of these were planning to attend the Biblical Entrepreneurship III class to further develop their kingdom business plans. The BE III class, taught by Ivan Papish and his team, was going to begin the day after the BE II class ended.   The goal of Ivan and his team is to train 200 Biblical Entrepreneurs throughout Ukraine this year and introduce Biblical Entrepreneurship in Russia.  They also plan to conduct a Ukraine National Business Plan Competition with prizes offered to the first, second and third place winners.  The first place winner will be entered into the Nehemiah Biblical Entrepreneurship International Business Plan Competition during Nehemiah Week.  Nehemiah Week will be held in Orlando, Florida , October 8th through the 13th 2013.

The Center for Entrepreneurship Development Success was founded in September 2007 by Ivan Papish with the vision to provide entrepreneurs in Ukraine with a Biblical worldview of business so that they may operate their businesses honestly and be witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ in the marketplace.  To date they have trained over 1,000 entrepreneurs in Ukraine and expanded Biblical Entrepreneurship to other Eastern European countries such as Moldova, Bulgaria, Russia and Transmoldovian Republic.  Their goal is to spread Biblical Entrepreneurship throughout Eastern Europe.   They also work with 16 schools throughout the Ternopil region of Ukraine to provide youth with character development and education on how to be responsible citizens.

In 2010 one of their Biblical Entrepreneurs, Oleg Karpyk, was the winner of the Nehemiah BE International Business plan competition that was held in Atlanta, Georgia.

The business plan was to establish a company that would produce and distributes organic fertilizers.  This company is now being operated by one of Oleg’s protégés, who is another Biblical Entrepreneur from Ukraine.  Oleg and his wife have launched a new business called Wonder Kid which is a children’s special event and party business.  This business originated from one of his BE classes.  Wonder Kid has become the leading children’s special events and party companies in Ternopil, Ukraine.
