We had a great time at the Biblical Apprentice in Portland last Saturday.  We had 31 students attend who represented homeschool networks, City Christian and Faith Bible Schools. We also had an international team of students representing Korea, Vietnam, and China from City Christian School. These students formed five teams who worked alongside their BE Certified Teacher/coaches, Dave Warner, Pat Johnson, Katie Reinmuth, Stephen Hodges, James Autry and Debra Schlaht.

Students participated in the Trade Game learning about the value of the free market system, received teaching about “how to be about the Father’s business” and developed business plans around a viable business idea.  Teamwork, time management, and presentation skills were utilized during the competition.

The first place $500 team prize went to Faith Bible School coached by Katie Reinmuth and Stephen Hodges.

The second prize $250 award went to City Christian School coached by Dave Warner.

And the third place $125 team prize went to homeschool students coached by Pat Johnson.

We would like to thank our coaches as well as our volunteers Julie Sies, Melody Wright and Rod Friesen, as well as Marley Brown, Dan Cano and Professor Roger Martin who served as judges.  Also, a huge thank you to our sponsors, Burgerville, MannaMovers and First Priority Financial and our host Warner Pacific College!

The Biblical Apprentice is a youth entrepreneurship program that prepares local teens, ages 11 -18, for real world business challenges by teaching them the value of teamwork, biblical ethics and taking an idea from conception to the development of a profit-making Kingdom Business – God’s way.
