As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.<\/em><br><br><em>\u201cI am the vine, you\u00a0are\u00a0the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.\u00a0If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw\u00a0them\u00a0into the fire, and they are burned.\u00a0If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will\u00a0ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><br> \u2013<strong> John 15:4-7 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">The Vine and the Branches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The entire Bible is a chronicle of the communications between God and man. The two glorious vehicles of two-way communication that He has given to us are worship and intercession \u2013 spoken and sung conversations between the Creator and His highest creation <strong>(Psalm 27:8; Zephaniah 3:17)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A disciple of Christ will be strong in worship and intercession; otherwise, they risk becoming disconnected from the True Vine (Jesus). \u201cAbiding in Him\u201d means just that \u2013 remaining in intimate fellowship with Him at all times, through prayer and worship.<br><br>From the teachings of Jesus regarding the Vine and the branches, we learn the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A branch (a disciple, and for that matter, a church, a Kingdom business, or a movement) cannot bear fruit unless it is in close communion, conversation, and communication with the Vine (Jesus).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One who does abide in the Vine will bear abundant, eternal fruit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One who does not abide in the vine will become dry \u2013 mentally, emotionally, and spiritually \u2013 and bear little if any fruit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One who does not abide is in danger of being cast out and withering (speaking of the fruitlessness borne out of a lack of relationship with Christ, not of losing salvation).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One who abides can ask their heart\u2019s desire, and it will be done for them by the LORD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cBusy-ness\u201d is the enemy of abiding \u2013 and sometimes, even the fruitfulness that abiding brings can become the enemy of its source.<\/strong> Many start out as worshippers and lovers of God and His Presence, but sadly, even \u201crighteous busy-ness\u201d has been known all too often to quench the fires of first love.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conduct a heart check right now.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is there anything that is more important to you than staying strongly connected to the Source of all life?<br><br>Especially when challenges or discouragement come your way, where will you choose to abide?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My prayer for you is that you will be committed to abiding in Christ and bear much fruit as you serve Christ in the marketplace.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:34% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"837\" height=\"974\" src=\"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/01\/Steve-Harris-2024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-60480 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/01\/Steve-Harris-2024.jpeg 837w, https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/01\/Steve-Harris-2024-258x300.jpeg 258w, https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/01\/Steve-Harris-2024-768x894.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/members\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/01\/Steve-Harris-2024-624x726.jpeg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 837px) 100vw, 837px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>This devotional is written by<strong>\u00a0Pastor Steve\u00a0Harris<\/strong>, the founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/globalinfluencers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Influencers<\/a>, an organization that trains and equips leaders to establish anointed communities that transform nations by restoring Kingdom culture from grassroots to government in the villages, cities, regions, and nations of the world.
