Against such there is no law.<\/em><strong><em> <\/em>\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians%205&version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Galatians 5<\/a>:22-23 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">As a Man Feels \u2013 The Power of Emotions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Emotions are our feelings, such as joy, sadness, or anger, usually expressed through actions. Our logic, reason, or spirit should drive our actions more than anything else, but there are times when, if our emotions are strong, they may drive our actions and can cause us to override our decision-making faculties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is currently driving your <a href=\"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">business decisions<\/a>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As entrepreneurs, there are benefits to allowing our emotions to influence our decisions. The benefits include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our emotions fuel our passion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our emotions help us connect with our team, customers, and other stakeholders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our emotions help us tap into our vulnerability which humanizes us<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our emotions can ignite our creativity\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The challenge, however, is that our emotions have a negative effect as well.<br>The negatives include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our emotions can cause us to become illogical<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our emotions can move us to be led by the flesh instead of the spirit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our emotions can cause us to be impulsive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our negative emotions can lead to anxiety and depression<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the above can lead to bad decision-making, with short and long-term consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are you experiencing positive or negative emotions?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key to becoming a successful <a href=\"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/biblical-entrepreneurship-3\/\">Biblical Entrepren<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/biblical-entrepreneurship-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">e<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/biblical-entrepreneurship-3\/\">ur<\/a> is not to deny your emotions, but rather to manage and channel them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ephesians 4:26<\/strong> says:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIn your anger do not sin\u201d: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry <\/em><strong>(NKJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There were moments in Jesus\u2019 life when He showed emotions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying,\u00a0<\/em><br><em>\u201cIf you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things\u00a0<\/em><br><em>that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.\u201d<\/em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br><strong>\u2013 Luke 19:41-42 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.\u00a0 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers\u2019 money and overturned the tables.\u00a0<\/em><br><strong>\u2013 John 3:13-15 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When emotions are demonstrated in a positive way, they are expressed constructively \u2013 for example, as passion, compassion, or joy. But when emotions are negative, if not controlled, they will be expressed destructively, for example, with anger, impatience, impulsiveness, and so on. Negative emotions, if left unchecked, can also lead to anxiety or depression. All emotions, whether positive or negative, will affect not only the person who is expressing them, but also those around them, and have a direct effect on the success or failure of everything that they are involved in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How do you harness positive emotions?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Recognize and Allow God to Heal Your Inner Brokenness\u00a0<\/strong><br><em>And He said to me, \u201cMy grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.\u201d Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.<\/em><strong><em> <\/em>\u2013\u00a0 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Align your thoughts with the Word of God\u00a0<\/strong><br><em>For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. <\/em><br><em>For the weapons of our warfare are not\u00a0 carnal but mighty in God for pulling <\/em><br><em>down strongholds,\u00a0 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts <\/em><br><em>itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to <\/em><br><em>the obedience of Christ,\u00a0 and being ready to punish all disobedience when <\/em><br><em>your obedience is fulfilled. <\/em><strong>\u2013 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (NKJV)<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Be Led by the Spirit Rather Than the Flesh<\/strong><br><em>For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you <\/em><br><em>put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.\u00a0 For as many as are led<\/em><br><em>by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. <\/em>\u2013 <strong>Romans 8:13-14 (NKJV)<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Master the Power of Self-Control<\/strong><br><em>But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, <\/em><br><em>kindness, goodness, faithfulness,\u00a0 gentleness, self-control. <\/em><br><em>Against such there is no law.<\/em> <strong>\u2013 Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Take Responsibility for Your Feelings, Rather Than Blaming Others<\/strong><br><em>Let no one say when he is tempted, \u201cI am tempted by God\u201d; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.\u00a0 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.<\/em><br><strong>\u2013 James 1:13-15 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Emotions have power.
