{"id":5403,"date":"2013-09-30T08:26:17","date_gmt":"2013-09-30T15:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nehemiah.pivotdev.com\/?p=5403"},"modified":"2020-03-16T23:20:40","modified_gmt":"2020-03-17T06:20:40","slug":"taking-dominion-through-business-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/members\/devotionals\/taking-dominion-through-business-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Taking Dominion through Business","gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"text"}]},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-background has-very-light-gray-background-color\"><em>\u201cThen God blessed them, and God said to them.\u00a0 \u2018Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.'\u201d<\/em> \u2014 <strong>Genesis 1:28<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you understand what God meant by \u201cdominion\u201d?\u00a0 Are you using your business to exercise your dominion in the marketplace?\u00a0 What are the four stages of dominion God gives in Scripture?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is clear in Scripture that God gave man dominion over the works of His hands.\u00a0 This dominion is not just limited to Christians, but it was given to all men.\u00a0 Christians however have a unique opportunity. \u00a0Based on the fact that they have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, they are able to exercise that dominion as an act of obedience to God and in a manner that glorifies Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is dominion?\u00a0 Dominion is a divine, legal right and power given to man over the works of God\u2019s hands (Psalm 8:6). There are three institutions that God has ordained through which man can exercise dominion on earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Family<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Business<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Government<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business is a tool to exercise dominion in the marketplace. \u00a0 Unfortunately, many kingdom entrepreneurs struggle to exercise dominion in the market place and are consequently not able to have the type of influence that God desires for them to have in society.\u00a0\u00a0 As Christians, we are called to be salt and light, but our influence is limited if we are not walking in dominion through our businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four stages of growth that are essential for us to have dominion through our businesses. However, these stages cannot be accomplished if we are not walking in divine blessings.\u00a0 This is why God blessed man before He instructed man to have dominion.\u00a0 Divine blessing is walking in the favor of God.\u00a0 It is a release of power, protection and grace from heaven to enable us to accomplish our earthly assignment.\u00a0 Without it, nothing you do will be successful, nor will it bring glory and honor to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the four stages of dominion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Be fruitful<\/strong> \u2013 Dominion begins with fruitfulness, which is the ability for the business to be profitable.\u00a0 You will never take dominion through business if your business is not\u00a0profitable, since profitability enables you to not only remain in business but also to generate the necessary resources to expand the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Multiply<\/strong> \u2013 To multiply means to expand.\u00a0 Once you are profitable, then you must find ways to expand the business to serve more people.\u00a0 Serving more people provides you with the opportunity to increase your profitability, which enables you to generate more resources for greater impact and influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong> Fill the earth<\/strong> \u2013 To fill the earth means to have a global vision.\u00a0 Do not limit yourself only to the community where you started your business, but consider other cities, states and even countries.\u00a0 Remember that as Great Commission companies you are called to \u201cgo into all the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Subdue<\/strong> \u2013 This is the final stage of dominion, which means to conquer.\u00a0 Establish your business as a clear leader in your industry or in the places where you are doing business.\u00a0 Without this last phase, your influence will be short-lived and have limited impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many examples of kingdom companies that have clearly taken dominion in the marketplace, though we do not have nearly enough. Many are striving such as Chick Fil-A, Auntie Anne\u2019s Pretzels, Timothy Plan, CMC Group, G.A.
