{"id":19466,"date":"2025-05-26T05:48:05","date_gmt":"2025-05-26T09:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nehemiahproject.org\/?p=19466"},"modified":"2025-05-26T05:53:47","modified_gmt":"2025-05-26T09:53:47","slug":"counting-the-cost-kb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/members\/devotionals\/counting-the-cost-kb\/","title":{"rendered":"Counting the Cost of Building a Kingdom Business","gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"text"}]},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL BY PATRICE TSAGUE<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you intentional about building a Kingdom Business?<br>Have you considered the personal cost?<br>Are you willing to pay the price?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><em>\u201cSo likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.\u201d <\/em>\u2013 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke%2014%3A33&version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke 14:33 (NKJV)<\/a><\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-luminous-vivid-amber-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-da7d536ac77d0d1ff629c09672d1e968\">Counting the Cost of Building a Kingdom Business<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems like everyone these days wants to build a <a href=\"https:\/\/nehemiahecommunity.com\/biblical-entrepreneurship-3\/\">Kingdom Business<\/a>, but very few truly understand what it really takes in terms of the personal and financial cost. As a business coach, I have witnessed firsthand the personal and financial sacrifices that many individuals and families are making as they become intentional about building Kingdom Businesses. They face increased overhead due to the desire to do right by employees, customers, communities, and government.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some limit their growth, so they do not compromise their core values or sacrifice their marriage and family. These individuals are modeling the commitment that the early followers of Jesus made when they forsook all to follow Him. They also recognize that a successful Kingdom Business begins with a successful personal Christian life. You cannot build a Kingdom Business if you are not modeling a personal Kingdom lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And at the end of the journey,\u00a0 if they have not found a family member who is committed to continuing the Kingdom legacy that they began, then they must be willing to transfer the company to someone outside the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Kingdom Business is a profitable company, operated by a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, that models His teachings with the goal of bringing transformation in the lives of individuals, communities, and nations. It is a company that is not only committed to a double or triple bottom line but also includes spiritual transformation \u2013 a quadruple bottom line \u2013 as part of how it measures its success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone can make money, but very few people can adhere to these <strong>Proverbs<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure with trouble.<\/em>\u2013 <strong>Proverbs 15:16 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Better is a little with righteousness, then vast revenue without justice. \u2013 <\/em><strong>Proverbs 16:8 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building a successful Kingdom Business comes at a price.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>Luke 14:25-33<\/strong>, Jesus tells us the price that must be paid to be a true follower.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>\u201cSo likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.\u201d<\/em>\u2013 <strong>Luke 14:33 (NKJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the same price that must be paid for followers who operate Kingdom Businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You must be willing to forsake all, including your family<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><br>What happens when your family is against the vision and what God has asked you to do in your life and business? Will you obey God, or will you listen to your family? Building a Kingdom Business may sometimes put you in direct opposition to family traditions and the desires of the family. This is never an easy situation, but we must be able to prioritize as led by the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 It is important to understand that the Greek word translated as <em>\u201chate\u201d<\/em> in <strong>Luke 14:25<\/strong> means <em>\u201clove less\u201d<\/em> and it is speaking about priorities \u2013 Jesus is not instructing us to hate our families! <strong>(<\/strong><em>also see <\/em><strong>Deuteronomy 13:6-8)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You must be willing to forsake all, including your own life<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><br>What happens when your personal desires and interests are inconsistent with the vision and instructions God gave you to apply in your life and business? Building a Kingdom Business will demand personal sacrifice on your part, and you must be willing to become a living sacrifice to fulfill the plan of God for your life. <strong>(Romans 12:1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You must be willing to bear your own cross<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><br>What happens when you face persecution and trials because of the vision and instructions God gave you? Will you back off, or will you persevere?
