That Was Fun
WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL BY PATRICE TSAGUE
What is your attitude when faced with trials?
Are you able to “count it all joy” when faced with trouble?
Do you want to have fun while going through trouble?
| My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. – James 1:2-3 (NKJV) |
That Was Fun
“Going through this has actually been quite fun” was the statement made by a Biblical Entrepreneur as he gave an update to about 100 members of his organization on some of the challenges his company was persevering through.
As he made the statement, I could imagine his staff saying, “fun – that is not how I would describe the pressure and uncertainties we have been facing.” How fun can it be when you are facing issues that could take the life out of you? How fun could it be when you are being dragged through the mud unjustly? How fun can it be when faced with an uncertain future?
Yet this is exactly how the Lord asks us to respond in the midst of difficulties, no matter how great or small. Laugh at it. Enjoy the ride. Embrace the challenge with unconditional optimism because God is about to show up. If you had been able to persevere, you would have had a front row seat to the best roller coaster ride of your life. In addition, you will be complete and lacking nothing.
How do you turn your own troubles into fun? Here are 7 keys that can help you
- Trust in the sovereignty of God by remembering who God is and how He has brought you through in the past
- Laugh at the problem – no matter how great it is, it is small compared to your God
- Embrace the trouble and don’t run from it
- Speak your victory and not defeat
- Seek peace by agreeing with God
- Be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove as you apply solutions
- Visualize how God will be glorified through this
Are you having fun yet?
The bible teaches that a joyful heart is like good medicine (Proverbs 17:22). There is nothing that you are going through that a little faith and a good laugh will not cure. Hand over your troubles to the Lord today, and start enjoying the journey knowing that in the end, you will lack nothing.
My prayer for you today is that God will grant you the grace to transform your trouble into joy and the wisdom to pivot where necessary.
Amen!!
It’s beautiful to see the statement of the Biblical Entrepreneur stating the situation was fun, though some would disagree and accuse him of being minimalistic, downplaying the challenges, over spiritualize things and more. But it’s clear He was operating from a place of rest, a place of wisdom, understanding and leading of the Holy Ghost so his perspective will definitely be different.
We would face challenging situations and there is or are things God would want us to get out of the situation, so we trust God, wait and tarry in His presence!
