Roar like A Lion

WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL BY PATRICE TSAGUE

Why do lions roar?
What does it mean to roar like a lion?
As Biblical Entrepreneurs, how do we roar?

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us.
 Romans 8:37 (NKJV)

Imagine that you are walking somewhere in Africa, and suddenly, you hear a lion roar. How would you feel? What would go through your mind? A lion’s roar is the loudest of all the big cats and can be heard close to 5 miles away.

Although lions are not the only animals in the jungle that can roar, their roar is distinct from other animals. It is one of the most terrifying in the animal kingdom. Lions roar for several reasons; to scare off intruders or predators, to warn the pride of danger, and to show off their strength and dominance in front of other lions.

As Biblical Entrepreneurs and joint heirs with the Lion of Judah – our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – we have a “roar”. Our roar is the demonstration of the victory that we have through Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:57). Our roar is a proclamation of the Lordship of Jesus over our lives (1 Corinthians 8:5-6), and a declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives (Romans 10:9).

We roar through our actions and words. The words we speak in difficult times can reflect our roar of victory or our admission of defeat. The actions we take in times of trouble can reflect our roar. Our roar is a posture of victory which says that no matter our circumstances or our situation, we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who strengthens us (Romans 8:37).

We do not just roar when things are going well – but we can roar because no matter what happens, we win! We roar to shame the devil, to demonstrate our courage, to overcome our fears, and as a reminder to ourselves that all will be well no matter what.

We roar because we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Nothing declares our roar like the Bethel Music song titled; Raise a Hallelujah.

I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me

I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!

I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me!

I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!

Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)

Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
Sing a little louder!

I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!

What are you going through right now? Do you need courage? Do you need to remind yourself that you are victorious and more than a conqueror?  Roar, raise a hallelujah, and sing it loud – the King is alive!

My prayer for you is that whatever your situation or circumstance may be, God will give you the grace to roar and raise a hallelujah, because the King – the Lion of Judah – is alive.
