“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control .” (Galatians 5:22)

Have you ever found yourself thinking the promise of the “fruit” of the Spirit seems too good to be true?
Do you find these fruits in your own life – in others?
Even if you are not seeing them – the truth is these fruits are real and obtainable! But in order for that to happen, it takes a sincere desire to grow closer to the Lord. To spend time reading and studying His Word. Love, joy and peace are found through time spent in prayer, seeking God’s best and taking time to actually be a friend of His.

And there are a couple more pieces of the puzzle as well…based on our work with clients, we have found that once you discover your identity in Christ and the destiny God has planned for your life – love, joy and peace aren’t far behind! However, our studies show that most people live in a place that doesn’t really look like that. In fact, there seems to be a very predictable pattern that emerges – and it is illustrated in the pyramid below:

Most people spend their lives on the bottom three tiers of this pyramid. They may have happiness for short bursts of time, then “life happens” and back they plunge into fear, fatigue and frustration. At best…they live in the monotony of everyday routines that are an endless cycle of the same old thing over and over again.

But the good news is – it doesn’t have to be like that! Through time spent with the Lord and the discovery of your God-given purpose, you can find passion, joy contentment and peace. You can find meaning and significance. You can find the clarity, direction and focus that allows you to say, “I finally know that I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do!”

So where do you find yourself on this pyramid?
Where are you when it comes to spending time with the Lord – like you would a best friend?
Where are you when it comes to actually finding, knowing and living your God-given purpose???
