image001 (1)Everything that has happened in your life can be used by God…if you let him?

For some of you, that may be a hard pill to swallow.

There are things that have happened beyond your control – and beyond your comprehension.

Things that have sent you reeling.

Things that you’ve done and now regret.

Things that have you wondering…how in the world can God use that???

Yet…here is what I know.

In the hands of God, the care of Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit   –God can take what Satan means for evil and use it for good.

Then…there are also those things you have done as you have moved through life – personally and professionally – that have built a pretty good looking resume.

A resume God has been sovereignty guiding.

A resume he wants to use…not just for your own personal benefit – but for the Kingdom!

How do I know?

Not because I have read it or heard it – but because I have lived it!

I am living proof that God can take your mess and make it your message…your test and make it your testimony…but he can also take the great things you have done and make greater use of them than you ever dared dream or imagine.

As for me…

My story and my “resume” have allowed me to help:

  • parents struggling with a children lost in the depths of drug and alcohol addiction

  • people who face the on-going battle of setting and keeping healthy boundaries

  • families who learn their daughter has advanced stage breast cancer

  • grandparents facing the news their grand baby has special needs

Yet – my story and my “resume” have also allowed me to help…

  • Women in transition looking for clarity, focus and direction  – a  sense of meaning and purpose for their lives

  • Christian entrepreneurs wanting to build businesses with the financial success to have even greater kingdom impact in the marketplace

  • Christian Women of Influence who have built amazing businesses – run successful ministries – or are placed in strategic parts of government, schools and churches …but know that God still has more he wants to do through them

As a Mom, wife, grandmother and life-long entrepreneur,  God has called me to offer my “resume” (in its entirety)…and allow him to use it for all it’s worth!

Humbled by the thought.

Grateful for the opportunity.

Thankful that God often sees more in me than I see in myself.

My answer – although a bit shaky and uncertain at times – continues to be YES!

How about you?

Are you sweeping your story under the rug?

Are you holding back letting fear and uncertainty stop you?

Are you underestimating the value of all you’ve accomplished?

Are you willing to let God use your “resume”?

Let me give you a place to start:

  • First, take an inventory of all your accomplishments (big and small) – write them down. I know you will be amazed!

  • Then Look back over your “story” rediscovering all the giants you’ve faced, conquered and overcome…and all you learned along the way.

  •  Finally, do a review of your life and see it in a new way….even the things you are still working on.  Begin seeing it through a new lens – the lens of God’s purpose for your life.

Everything that has happened in your life can be used by God…if you let him!?!

Now…for the benefit of all who can be served, saved, helped and encouraged…
