The Thankful Business Leader Pt. II

give thanks - Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community

Last week we looked at why it was important for us to be thankful as entrepreneurs and Kingdom Business Leaders. In case there is any confusion or doubt about what to be thankful for, I thought it would be good to give you a reminder of all of God’s blessings.

  1. It all starts here. We should be eternally grateful for the gifts, talents, and abilities that God has given us. Even our very lives are a product of His grace. My next breath is, literally, in His hands. We should be thankful that He has given us the opportunity to worship and serve through business.
  2. It takes the right kind of spouse to either partner with you as an entrepreneur or support you as you pursue what God has put on your heart to do. We sometimes forget how hard it can be if you don’t have that partnership or support. But truthfully, it can make the life of a business leader miserable or blessed. As Proverbs 18:22 says, “He who has found a wife (or a husband) has found a good thing”. Let’s be thankful for it.
  3. If you are in the US or a country with similar values, you can be thankful for the freedom we have to conduct business and to be protected by the rule of law that keeps the government or powerful individuals from taking advantage of us.
  4. Let us not take each sale, customer, or good employee as though we made it happen. Each one of these is a blessing from His hand. Now is a good time to thank Him for them, individually, by name or event.
  5. We should be thankful for the freedom we have as an entrepreneur. Yes, the hours can be long and the demands can be brutal. But on that day when you can go to your daughter’s volleyball game at 3:30 in the afternoon because you set your own schedule, you realize how valuable this freedom is.
